A Letter from the Author

Books by Bonnie, is a company I started in 2020, in hopes of making a difference, not only in literary skills, but also to those less fortunate in my community. I grew up in the Upstate of South Carolina and graduated from Clemson University. I have written three children’s books about my dog, Topper’s Tale, Topper’s Christmas Tale, and Topper’s Travel Tale. All the books are humorous with rhythmic page turners that can be used to teach many reading skills, such as rhyming, cause and effect, prediction, and memorization. In the book, Topper wears a bowtie, “to look proper” so I had the idea to tie in a dog bowtie with each book, along with a bookmark, coloring sheets, and a ‘Topper’ stuffed animal. Topper is certified through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. My aspirations for Books by Bonnie, is to be a nonprofit and use the proceeds to give back in a unique and memorable way. I visit children’s hospitals, foster care programs, special education schools, or anywhere that might need a little extra joy spread. For each author visit, Topper and I read the books. While I am reading, Topper gives the best company to the child. Each child we visit will be given an autographed and PAWtographed book, along with the Topper stuffed animal, bookmark, and coloring sheets. I truly want to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate and spread God’s love. I’m excited to be able to give back and blessed to have the opportunity to share my passion with others.
